Amazing Value Meets Absolute Luxury
This popular address has a unique tale to tell. The Columbia Hospital for Women and Lying-in Asylum was founded during the Civil War era when health care was scarce for women. The facility provided much-needed free services and lodging for wives and widows who would travel to Washington in search of missing soldiers. After its closure in 2002, the hospital was extensively renovated and transformed into one of our favorite condominiums in Washington.
On Life At The Top's "It" Buildings Lists, The Columbia scores in four categories including "High Demand." Unlike many DC condo buildings, The Columbia and its spectacular amenities are served up to residents with very reasonable monthly fees. Amenities at The Columbia are perennially impressive, with a friendly staffed front desk and concierge, a rooftop swimming pool with deck, a club room, billiards, fitness center and three furnished guest suites. Residents also love the on-site Trader Joe’s—you won’t have to go outside for groceries when it snows!
